Student Pathways to Access, Readiness, and Knowledge (SPARK)
SPARK (Student Pathways to Access, Readiness, and Knowledge) is an on-site weekend program hosted at the FIU College of Engineering & Computing. Designed for students across Miami-Dade County, SPARK invites participants to join FIU and experience VEX Robotics while exploring coding, engineering, & physics.
Held on Saturdays during both the fall and spring semesters, SPARK runs for 14 weeks and offers age-appropriate sessions led by experienced facilitators and supported by FIU student mentors.
Through interactive learning and real-world applications, SPARK empowers students to explore STEM fields early—building curiosity, creativity, and confidence along the way.
The program is divided into two tracks, each limited to 20 students:
-
SPARK Cubs: for students currently in grades 3–5
-
SPARK Junior Panthers: for students currently in grades 6–8
