Center for Development, Support, and Success in Engineering and Computing (CDSSEC)

CDSSEC is dedicated to advancing the academic and professional development of students within the College of Engineering & Computing (CEC). CDSSEC promotes student recruitment, enrichment and retention through student-led initiatives, school-partnered programs and valuable student resources and experiences.

Built on a foundation of academic support, student enrichment and community engagement, CDSSEC strategically emphasizes workforce development and industry partnerships to:

  • Strengthen the STEM pipeline from K–12 through graduate education
  • Equip students with career-ready skills and meaningful industry connections
  • Serve as a model for accessible and adaptive engineering and computing education

    Engineers on Wheels (EoW) brings hands-on science, technology, engineering and math learning directly to K–12 classrooms and community spaces across Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

    SPARK

    Student Pathways to Access, Readiness, and Knowledge (SPARK) in engineering is an immersive, Saturday-based engineering exploration program that introduces participants to hands-on experiences in VEX robotics, coding, engineering fundamentals and physics.

  • Peer Tutoring

    Certified tutors are ready to help you with engineering and construction management courses. Tutoring is offered in a hybrid format, so you can choose to meet in person or online.

    The FLAME Intro Micro-Scholarship is available to Florida International University (FIU) College of Engineering and Computing (CEC) undergraduate students who participated in the FLAME Dual Enrollment Program.
